Happy Monday everyone!
I hope you enjoyed a wonderful weekend! For us, it was a great weekend full of good friends, great food and soaking up lots of the super warm weather.
Speaking of warm weather… I saw that they have revised the Cherry Blossom bloom forecast for this coming weekend! I can’t believe it…spring has certainly sprung early!
Since I was already booked on the original peak bloom date, I had passed on Cherry Blossom Minis this year. I was a little sad because this is the 100th anniversary of the Cherry Blossom season and it has to be one of the best, and my personal favorite, photo opportunities in the DC area! However, as luck and warm weather would have it, the peak bloom happens to be during a free weekend. So let’s celebrate!
I will be doing Cherry Blossom mini sessions this Saturday March 24th. Sessions are 20 minutes long and designed to get great updated portraits of you and your family during this iconic DC event.
Spaces are limited. Email me at sweetbeephotography@gmail.com for additional information or to book your time.
I look forward to seeing everyone!

Sweet little Cole joined his crazy mom and I for a photo shoot for Libby Lane Press this week. Not only did it turn out to be a super fun time, but this little guys photos just melted our hearts. I have been very fortunate this year to work with Libby Lane Press and I know my clients just adore her and her work.
We officially have way too much fun with our businesses, kids and crazy ideas we always think up…not to mention the crazy desserts that always seem to be around. It doesn’t hurt that we get to see our work on fun places like Amy Atlas Events and Hostess with the Mostess.
Make sure to check out the full shoot from this week on her blog and grab a sweet little note card printable while you are there.
Thanks Nicolle for sharing your sweet little man and Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!

Meet Nikki… one of the sweetest girls you will ever know. She is kind…stunning…fun…and oh… my new assistant for SweetBee Photography! She is wonderful and my clients are going to be lucky to know her. Nikki is an up and coming photographer and we recently took advantage of the woooonderful warm golden hour and did a mini shoot for her and her sweet sweet mom who I might just adopt. Don’t think those hands on the belly are not purposeful… they are… Nikki and her husband are welcoming their new addition in July. Our mini shoot also took the form of a gender reveal.
I can’t wait to share with you this heart warming session.
In other news this week, I am very thankful for wonderfully honest friends. People who know you…aren’t afraid to be honest with you and make you better people. In the next few weeks you might notice some changes around here. Thank you to those friends who believe in me, encourage me and push me to be the best I can for myself, my family and for my clients. I appreciate you more than you know.
Happy Wonderful Wednesday!

Beautiful babies…beautiful moments. I am so blessed to see these so often.
Violeta was the epitome of both. She was so calm and even if she was just a bit bothered, a little cuddling from dad made it all better. She literally fell asleep in his hands. It made for such tender photos. Violeta’s parents are from Colombia and these photos are going to be sent near and far so it made them extra special. I found myself fawning over all the details of her room… the tiny pacifier clip that was so dainty and the beautiful art that hung above her crib.
Thank you for sharing your sweet and beautiful family with me Violeta.

I know…it’s been quiet over here this week. But rest assured, it’s just the blog. I have been busy capturing sweet little newborns like little Violeta here, and having lots of shooting time with this unseasonably warm weather. I am headed out of town for the weekend for some rest, relaxation and lots of reflection. I plan to come back recharged from shooting and ready to dig deep into the blogging world (hint hint: a new family blog is in the works!) There are so many fun and exciting things to share in the upcoming weeks! I promise it is just a little nap we have been taking;)
Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend!

Whether your are married, engaged, falling in love or falling out…just go ahead and enjoy it…the kisses…the hugs… the cards…the red and pink…the romance… the flowers…I give you permission… enjoy it…
Just remember….when you are lucky enough to receive all these things…then go ahead and give some back because in the end on Valentine’s Day…and everyday…everyone deserves a little love.
Happy Valentine’s.
Meet the worlds newest princess…Little Laila. I seriously couldn’t get enough of this sweet little face. And oh those eyes! I loved how peaceful she was when she fell asleep and the flaky newborn skin…reminds me of that short time with my own daughter. You are such a tiny princess Laila…So so thankful that I had the chance to meet you and your family.
We are as confused as you are.
Don’t forget Valentine’s minis are this weekend. Today is the last day to sign-up for Saturday and there are a few spots remaining.
Hope everyone finds a way to enjoy this beautiful weather!
It’s January 31st…where has time gone? To say that I had everything figured out at the beginning of the year would be a lie. When I left my job to be full-time photographer, wife and mom, it was a truly a leap of faith. I said I trusted where God would lead me, but really…I was just praying that He would catch me and if I am really being honest, I was not entirely sure He would. Well here is what happened…
In the past 31 days, I worked hard…without working in the middle of the night. I slept a lot…including nap times. I read a lot of books…more children’s than anything. Ate…a lot and drank even more wine. I started projects I used to cram into a few free hours and I am reveling in the fact that they are still unfinished-It means I enjoyed the moment instead of stuffing more things to do into them. I photographed a wedding…and admittedly fell in love with it in a new way. I booked four new weddings for 2012 in my first three days of work. I photographed newborns… and scheduled even more newborn sessions than I have had in the past 6 months. I took more photos of my own family (somewhere in the number of 2000) and managed to edit them before the month was over. I ran outside…in the sunshine. I drank coffee while having breakfast with my daughter everyday. I met new people I am already happy to call my friends and was able to meet up with old friends without worrying about missing a few hours of being home.
As a family, we started hosting monthly dinner club for both friends and family. We instituted family days where we climbed mountains…literally. We ate dinner… all of us… at 5PM…almost every day. We watched TV together and went to bed before 12AM. We laughed… a lot.
Adalynn learned to drink from a sippy cup. She also now can feed herself…no more baby food for this one. From newly crawling, she is now able to make anything, including her little piano, into a walker to practice her steps. She started a regular nap schedule and can clap and wave hello. I didn’t miss any of it. In all, I consider that my greatest accomplishment of the month on top of the fact that I finally captured a photo that shows light in my sweet little daughter’s eyes.
Needless to say, here I am… alive and well… jumping for joy. This month has exceeded my expectations and of course God gets the credit. He filled this month with amazing people, amazing opportunities and amazing… amazing… moments. He has shown me day after day exactly what happens when you follow your heart and you trust where He is leading you. In this case, not only did God catch me, but He led me into a life of even more blessings than I can count.
What a month.
It’s Monday and thankfully it is sunny here in Washington DC.
So no matter if are inside or enjoying the sunshine…here is a little something to take you away.
Make sure not to forget about the upcoming minis this weekend!
